What's happened to Zildjian?

I'm just starting to replace my aging A Zildjians I bought 20 years or more ago as they're tired and splitting etc. Bought a like for like 19" replacement and inside 12 months it split, so tried a K 19" it split too just over 12 months after purchase. Converted to Paiste 2002's and I'll never go back. The glory days for Zildjian are over as far as I'm concerned
