Really lovely beginner instrument

I purchased a batch of Thomann Classic violin sets in various sizes for children at my new music school.

These are excellent for beginner instruments.
A shoulder rest was included in each outfit, which I had not expected. Aesthetically they look good with nice detail on the pegs and with light coloured fittings. They arrived already set-up with the strings partially tensioned and bridge and soundpost in place. No difficulty with tuning any of these instruments, unlike the cheaper Stagg violin outfit which in my experience was tight, and had weak tailguts with a tendency to snap. If you are deciding between the two, choose the Thomann. The Thomann outfits all tuned up easily, no sticky pegs, and are holding their tuning well.

I only took 1 star off because one or two of the bows were a very tight to turn the screw. Not a big deal unless you're a child trying to do it. The bows aren't quite as good a quality as the violins but they're ok for the price. Also the violin strings are the most basic quality. The sound is ok, and it's fine for my purposes teaching beginner violin classes. But if you intend to buy the instrument for personal use, you could easily transform the sound just by replacing these with better strings, as the violins themselves have a sweet tone to them.

I highly reccommend this product as a student violin for beginners up to grade 3. Will buy again.

Good for the price

The violin is good for the price. What could be better is the bow which is made of composite. Thomann should consider enclosing wooden bow instead. The composite one plays just as well but I think the feeling is better with the wooden one. The shoulder rest included was too small for the violin so I complained and they sent me a new one free of charge. The model of the new one is Muco Shoulder Rest 1/4 - 1/8 Violin and it fits to the violin. The website is very well organized and the personnel is very helpful. Both packages came to Slovenia in 2-3 working days.

Tyytyväinen pikku tyttöviulisti!

Nätti ulkonäkö ja todella kaunis ääni meidän viululla! Pikku tyttöviulisti on täydellisesti tyytyväinen että hänellä on tällainen ensimmäinen soitin. Miedän hyvä opettajakin sanoi että harvoin saa kuulee näin ihana ja pitkä ääni pienellä viululla.

Sehr sehr schöne Kindervioline! Kaufempfehlung!

Sehr schön klingende Kindervioline! Die Stahlsaiten sind sehr fein und leicht stimmbar. Sie kam wirklich SPIELFERTIG an, nichts muss nachgearbeitet / überarbeitet werden-lediglich der kleine Steg musste noch aufgestellt werden- er sitzt perfekt.

hinsichtlich der Stahlsaitenqualität: feiner, voller Klang. Auch das hätte ich nicht gedacht. Daher hatte ich zusätzlich noch Vision Saiten bestellt. Nun werde ich die Vision Saiten erst aufziehen, wenn die Stahlsaiten ausgedient haben.

Diese Geige kaufte ich für ein 6,5jähriges Kind . Nach dem Stimmen konnte ich nicht widerstehen und musste dieses kleine Instrument ausprobieren. Nie hätte ich gedacht, dass sie so schön klingt!Ich bin selbst Anfänger und kann natürlich kein Profi Urteil abgeben. Aber für die Ohren von Freunden klang sie ebenso gut.(resonanter, feiner,voller Ton)

Allerdings: der Bogen reicht für die ersten Kontakte mit der Geige, sobald das Kind in der Lage ist, gut zu streichen, sollte ein besserer Bogen gekauft oder geliehen werden!
Auch das Kolophonium würde ich dann durch ein anderes, besseres ersetzen.
