i
Jackson Pro Plus black. MASSIVE UPGRADE
idealmethod 07.08.2023
After falling in love with the amazing JS22 and JS32, Jackson brought out this guitar a year later. I always wanted steel frets and having fell for the DINKYs in the past I knew this would be the one for me, a good upgrade to my JS32 dinky. And I was right. This pro plus has the same smooth body as the 22 and 32 but with a better neck join and made from mahogany instead of poplar, so its harder, stronger, the volume and tone are ressesed into the body. The big thing to take away for this is the steel frets go ALL THE WAY to the edge of the fret board unlike previous dinkys. The pick ups are way clearer and punchier than the Jackson brand pickups, and the steel frets are so much smoother to play on than nickel you really feel and hear a big difference, so everything is a good upgrade, and at the price these days its a good buy. I am glad I never bought an expensive nickel fretted guitar in the past, imagine sinking £1,349 on a guitar without steel frets, glad I never did, so jump in at the right time and pick up these unique bad boys with their steel frets at a decent price. Only last month my guitar center told me you need to spend well over a grand to get a good guitar with steel frets. Its a sign of the times.

This guitar is a punchier more precice easier to play, more solid instrument than the amazing JS32, its a great upgrade.
You cannot take a Jackson JS32 into the studio to record stock, but I feel the new pro plus Jacksons are made for the studio they are so good, strong, precise and clear.
build quaility is 10/10 no flaws anywhere. ( coss it was build in China, all my Chineese Jacksons have flawless build quality)
the only downside or thing I would change would be the fret edges, I would have and expected them to be the same as the dinky32 and 22, but they were not. However since owning this guitar I have not picked up another, so having rails/traintracks for frets is fine. NO REGRETS. If I could go back intime I would still buy it. If you love your DINKY then this is a great upgrade to it. Next to the JACKSON AMERICAN SOLOIST the DINKY 22 and 32 were the best guitars I had played, but this new one is close to being up at the top of the list now. Opted for the bolt on neck for it would have less issues than the neck throu over time, and it saved me 300 bucks. My guitar playing has also improved when using THIS guitar, its the board and steel frets coulped with the awesome pickups that cause this. Definately got a great guitar here, massive upgrade, I am happy.

Guitar does come set up but tuning all tuned down for tension reasons so I did have to adjust the spring tension at the back in order to tune up to standard tuning with stock strings 9s., which is great but if you are a newbie to floyd rose take that into consideration.

10/10 build quality and its still a slim neck
10/10 sound
10/10 playability gliding on those steel frets
0/10 regretability

I definately have no need to buy any more guitars now.....this year.
