Does the job
I'm using this with the GLM controller to control the monitors, it works well, though there's a slight lag between turning it and the volume reacting, it does not mean anything to me.
I am unimpressed with the thin wire and 3.5mm TRS jack, I'm afraid the wire or jack (in the GLM box) will break in time. On the positive note, it's just a 10K log potmeter, so it should be easy to fix.
The knob is heavy and won't slide around the table.
It has hard-stops at each ends of the scale, I hope these stops are made in iron and not just the potmeter reaching its ends.
It would have been nice if there was a way to adjust the hard-stop to something less than max volume to avoid accidents.

Useful thing
An excellent addition for a calibration system, you can put it in front of your hand and you don’t need to reach far to the volume control, I liked it so much that it weighs almost a kilogram with this size, in general, a cool thing!

for the new Genelec speakers
Instead of reaching for the UAD-apollo monitor level knob having a dedicated desktop Genelec volume control makes all the difference so as to enjoy the Genelec 8351 sound without performing uncomfortable moves. Beautiful aesthetically and solid like the speakers . Practical and relatively cheap. How I managed without it is the question .

It does the job
I use this to control my 8260a monitors.
Its well built! I dropped it once on a wood floor and it suffered no damage.
Its smooth. Nice to turn!
Sadly, there is no registration for the control's position, other than referencing the dip on top with the cord coming out of the back. A few, minimal, tic marks would have been nice.
A couple small strips of colored tape fixes this problem to a degree.

Heavy but imprecise machining
The box in which I've received it was previously open. The knob itself is heavy and most likely made of cast aluminum. I was expecting a noise and friction-free(metallic grinding) operation but I was wrong - it isn't as smooth as other volume controllers on the market, such as the Pilot X (which is also, coincidentally, 20 euro cheaper and better built). But since it's our only wired option to control the GLM kit (without a computer), it is what it is..
Later edit: Thomann has provided me with a replacement and this one works properly. Thanks!

Big and sturdy volume knob. Love it!
It costs a few Euros but once you unpack it you know it's worth it. Butter smooth volume control on your desk.

Love it
I use it with GLM on a computer desk and I love it. Much better than digital volume of a streamer.
