Budget Alternative to an AC30 Trem!

I play in a band where I sometimes use an AC30's built in tremolo + an additional tremolo for certain psychedelic effects. However some events just don't call for (or allow me) to bring an AC30, so I bought one of these to stick at the end of my pedal board.

This is where this is great - it's a fairly authentic replication of a sine wave 'Bias Trem'. It has the same level of depth and speed variety you'd normally have on an AC30, that is to say the speed is quite limited. Sine oscillators are like this by design, so for those who want a jack-of-all trade trem I'd look elsewhere. This is a recreation of a specific design.

It does like the variations in power amp distortion you get from an AC30, but in the FX loop of an amp it certainly could provide that. At this price point, who is complaining?

Best affordable tremolo

This tone city tremolo is one of the best affordable ones, every tone city pedal I've ever had is just amazing. Pro pedals for a cheap prize. It's very versatile en simple to use.

Unsubtle tremolo

This is a simple and easy to use tremolo pedal with not many features: no wave shape or bias control, just volume, depth and speed. Speed is obvious and goes from very slow to not so fast but fast enough for most. Volume is nice if you want to compensate the perceived vol loss when engaged or even for getting a hefty boost. Alas, depth renders this pedal borderline unusable : even at minimum it is too much. Therefore this tremolo is not subtle and is only good if you want a prominent or over the top effect. Not for me.

Das Tremolo wird als Vintage angepriesen und soll den Sound der 50er und 60er bringen.
Stimmt. Aber auch nicht mehr.
Ich dachte immer, das Tremolo gleich Tremolo ist. Aber das ist nicht so.
Genau wie alle anderen Pedale gibt es kleine aber feine Unterschiede und das eigene Ohr entscheidet.
Das Tremolo von Tone City ist ein einfach ausgestattetes Tremolo, dass eine sehr schöne Klangfarbe liefert. Wer also ein Tremolo sucht, dass die Basics in sehr guter Qualität abliefert ist hier richtig. Die Stärke des Pedals ist der Volumenpoti. Damit lässt sie der Volumenverlust durch den Tremoloeffekt ausgleichen und zusätzlich herumspielen. Der Volumenpoti ist in dem Preissegment einzigartig.

Wer Tap-Tempo, verschiedene Waveformen, Harmonics und unterschiedliche Notenwert-Einteilungen sucht, der sollte lieber woanders suchen.

Aber ich wollte Vintage und Volumenpoti und rocke und surfe mit dem Pedal was das Zeug hält :-)
