Good instrument, excellent value for the money

I play tenor and bass trombone (keen amateur) but was curious about alto trombone so I decided to get the TEB480L.
In general the instrument is very good, sound is nice and it speaks easy. Intonation is good, the partials are well aligned. Slide out of the box was a little rough but after playing for a while and a couple of cleanings later has turned out to be good.

There are some (very) minor cosmetic blemishes in the lacquer, but totally in line with what to expect from a instrument at this price point.

Overall I am very happy with this instrument, it allows me to learn alto and is would be more than sufficient for the occasional performance.

Easy order process on a first class website, and great service. The instrument is exactly as described, and the quality of finish seems good.
Comes in a high quality case, and a nice touch that a tube of slide lube is included
The rating process insists on a star rating in every category, but really only time will tell how well it performs

High quality, low-cost entry to alto trombone

I found this TEB480 alto trombone and discovered it is almost identical to another brand with the price point twice as much.

This Horne has a very good finish, really nice slide, and very solid construction. Add a 10th the price of a professional Horne this is a great start for learning this instrument.

The sound feels a little bright and stuffy, but that could be me though the horn, being built very solidly, might use thicker metal than on a higher grade horn.

Regardless, for the price and the construction quality and the care and speed of delivery. This can’t be beat
