I ordered a pair of these for my music school as replacements for a rather old pair of speakers I had.
Installation and studio upgrade can take time and the only chance I have is when there are no lessons taking place - this eats into late evenings and weekends, basically my spare time.
After spending hours preparing the room and setting everything up I turned everything on only for one of the two speakers to be completely broken.
Now, occassionally this happens I know, but, the worst part is, after explaining the situation to Thomann they failed to make any effort at all to get a replacement to me quickly. This leaves music lessons at my school suffering.
I am a regular and fairly big spender with Thomann and this is the first time I've ever had below standard customer service. But, It's the first time I've ever really asked or needed for a favour.
Not cool Thomann...
EDIT:
Thomann managed to get the replacement to me, unfortunately a few days later than I wiould have hoped.
Once it arrived it works well.
The speakers are run via the T Amp (volume set on the amp to halfway) and through a Behringer Xenyx802s mixer where I can get the main gain to about one quarter before it becomes too loud for my music school/lessons.
This gives me a lot of control and headroom wihtout having to push things hard at all.
The sound is a little thin, but, to be honest the lack of bass in a drum school is actually beneficial in a way - the students can hear the clarity of the song and the difference between their instrument and the backing track a little better.
The Xenyx does have a 3 band EQ so I can boost things if needed.
Overall these are good, no-frill speakers. Ideal for my use, but maybe not the best purchase for other true "listening for enjoyment" situations.
