Different than other sized Millenium boxes

Needed to tidy up my studio, and decided to get boxes for separate effects units. Ordered Millenium Steel boxes, 2U and 3U. 3U box is as expected, good quality and rigid even for heavier equipment, and several can be stacked on top of each other. But the 2U boxes were very different: steel material is thinner and this, together with the construction of the box, how the metal is bent, makes this 2U box inferior compared to 3U box, and not suitable for anything heavy and/or and stacking. Also, they are slightly narrower than the 3U boxes, so they look like they were made by different manufacturer? Decided to return all 2U boxes and get more 3U boxes instead.

Does a simple job well

I needed something to raise a computer monitor to eye level, and also needed to mount some rack kit in an easily accessible place. This item does both jobs beautifully. I wouldn't try to put anything heavier than a monitor on it as it feels a bit flimsy, especially when empty, but for the price I'm really not complaining.

Rock-solid and ridiculously useful—Millenium nailed it!

I wasn’t expecting to be this impressed by a simple steel box, but the Millenium Steel Box 2 has totally exceeded expectations. The build quality is outstanding—heavy-duty steel with clean edges and a flawless finish that just screams durability. It feels like it could survive a fall off a truck (haven’t tried, but you get the idea).

I’m using it to house my patch bays and power supply underneath my pedalboard setup, and it’s made everything neater, quieter, and more protected. The design is minimal but functional, and the fit and finish are leagues above what I expected at this price point. Honestly, it looks sleek enough to sit in a pro studio rack.

It’s also surprisingly versatile—if you're even slightly handy, there’s plenty of room for customisation. Drill holes, mount gear, label it up—it’s like a blank canvas for DIY rig nerds like me.

If you’re on the fence: don’t be. It’s one of those rare purchases that feels like money well spent the moment you unbox it.
