Line6 Helix Control

A perfect plug-and-play floorboard for Helix Rack. It makes programming and playing the rack system as easy as with Helix Floor. It takes your mind off the switching and you can focus on the live performance instead.

- The patch name/tuning screen could be a bit bigger.
- Rack and Control combined cost wayyy more than Helix Floor. They should be equally priced IMO.

It’s a great and kinda necessary companion to the Helix Rack but compared to the Helix floor the build quality is a bit lacking.
The sides are made out of plastic and the top display is rather dim. Furthermore it is a display that is highly dependent on the right viewing angle.
For what it does it is more than adequate but for that kind of money I expect that at least the finish on the top is well done and there are no plastic parts or cheap displays .
Above and below each button are some sort of marks in the metal which leaves the device looking cheaper than it is.
Overall it works very well but is way to expensive.

I got the Helix Rack from Thomann, and got the floor controller and case in their well-priced bundle pack. The Line6 Helix Rack is an excellent product, and the Controller is a great addition.

The scribble strips and display are easy to read at all light levels, the footswitches are nicely tactile, and the whole unit has a reassuring build quality without feeling like it's been weighed down with lead. One feature that I really love is that there's no need for an extra power supply for the Controller, as both power and signal are carried by the supplied Cat 5 Ethernet cable. There are also sockets for fitting additional effects and expression pedals (try Mission Engineering's pedal designed especially for the Helix).

For a live setup, no power cable(s) need to be run to the stage, no need to check/replace batteries for your pedals. Everything is much neater (and lighter!).

If you don't have the Rack sitting within arm's reach at all times, you really should add this to your setup.
