A wonderful system in a teriible enclosure

The idea, concept and programming of this synth is a dream coming true for everyone who likes FM synthesis. In fact this is the instrument that can be a great introduction to anyone not knowing anything about FM synthesis as Korg Opsix goes way beyond that.

However the actual physical quality of the hardware box completely destroys the impression. The plastic keyboard is and feels like a cheap chinese toy - for anyone who likes playing keyboards this keybed will be a nightmare. The overall enclosure feels like it would fall apart just from looking at it.

Sure it goes hand in hand with a very accessible price but then again there's nothing stopping You from Using the OPSIX NATIVE VST plugin running on your computer - as the sound will be identical to what you get from this box - given the fact that it's 100% digital.

Programming anything that goes beyond the classic FM bells takes time and effort - this is expected from the idea behing FM synthesis.

Perhaps an OPSIX DESKTOP played by an external keyboard could be a golden means here...
