Standard Nylon pick with excellent bang for the buck

I nowadays mostly play with pointy Jazz III -style picks, but occasionally I like to "return home" to playing with standard 351 shaped picks.

I decided to buy a pack of the HB Nylon 1.5mm picks as these were the thickest ones available, and I tend to favor picks on the heavier side.

The HB Nylon 1.5mm is slightly taller than the Dunlop Delrin 500 pick. The tip of the HB Nylon 1.5mm pick is slightly pointier than that the Dunlop Nylon pick. I would say that the HB Nylon 1.5mm pick clearly belongs to the 351 family.

The pick is strudy: it does not bend much. It is a great fit for fast and accurate single-note playing.

I really like the sandpaper-like texture of the pick. The grip is excellent and the material produces nice scratchy (perhaps even violin-like) sound especially when picking the unwound strings. I truly enjoy this sound when playing with high levels of distortion. The sandpaper-like surface also provides nice haptic feedback when playing: you can easily feel when the pick touches the string (there is a tiny bit of resistance when the pick slides across the string).

The durability of the product is similar to that of all other nylon picks. I can play for 10-15 hours before the edge of the pick becomes so worn that I'll need to replace the pick with a new one.

All in all, this product is a standard nylon pick with excellent grip, nice scratchy sound and nice playing feel at super-affordable price point. I can warmly recommend the product to all lead/metal guitar players out there.

Kokeiltuani monta eri plektramerkkiä ja settiä, nämä olivat iloinen yllätys.
Etsin siis pidempään sitä omaa plektraa.

Materiaali ei ole liukas, antaa grippiä melkein kuin Sand Gripit ymv.

Paksu, silti nopea jämäkkä plektra.

Leveämpi yläosa antaa itselle ainakin jämäkän ja tarkan otteen.

Hieman lasiviilalla teroitan kärkeä terävämmäksi ja ohuemmaksi ja voilà.

Jos pöydällä on 100 plektraa, eri merkkiä, mallia ja paksuutta ja silti tämä jää aina käteen, on Harley Benton tehnyt loistavan tuotteen.

Ps: Setissä saisi olla mustaa ja valkoista plektraa enemmän kuin yksi.

Super thick picks

I've tried one so far on my Bass and must admit as other reviewers note these definitely keep up with bigger name brand plectrums, this sizing at least. Feels sturdy, very grippy and cuts through strings like butter with great attack. Definitely get these again when it's time to make a big order here 😉
