Perfect machting locking tuners for a Studio Session ETB
HMMR 25.02.2026
The guitar I recently purchased and am extremely happy with, a G. Studio Session ETB, had normal tuners and have another guitar with locking system that teased me to buy these for her little syster. The simplicity and quickness once changing strings of locking turners is I guess try once, never go back.

Easy to instal, no extra drilling. Just a tiny line from the old turners you can hardly see and overall a perfect fit. Missing though some quick guide since I spent some time with preparations but as mentioned, extremely easy to instal even without instructions.

Good mechanics and overall quality, perfectly matching finish to a Gibson Studio Session Ebony Translucid Burst with those darker shine metal pieces. WOW! The first time I used this system, suddenly any quality locking turner did not seem as expensive since the time you spend with these is nothing. Thread, lock and adjust ...et voila...strings changed and staying more in tune. Again once you try, I think you wont go back.

Lets not forget Markos from the chat who clarified several other doubts I had on the guitar and this item to match construction and even color which is not the average you find in guitars. Thanks Markos

Not the first time I mention the chat. This, I consider one of your best services

The ones
Wahoa 18.03.2026
Always loved Gotoh stuff. But the "classic" locking machine heads where you can in some instances need a screwdriver are just a tiny bit of work when changing strings sometimes. These are just as good at keeping the guitar in tune as the "classic" screwdriver design, but also much easier to work with. Will always go Gotoh!

Excellent upgrade
Jonno777 05.12.2024
I bought these to replace the 6 Grover standard tuners on my Les Paul Studio. I prefer locking tuners on all my electric 6 strings, as the tuning stability is very much improved and string changes are very easy. These ones were a good choice as they were in the cobalt black colour, thus replicating the colour of the old ones.
Fitting time was 20 minutes, the original bushes were fine to be used, and the tuners slotted in perfectly.
These Gotohs are excellent quality, I also have the same ones in chrome finish on my LP Standard, and they do not add any noticeable extra weight on that you would notice. All in all a worthwhile upgrade because even though my original Studio Grover tuners were only a few months old the tuning stability on this guitar is a lot better with these locking Gotohs.
