Good, but too hard for me.

I know ZZ's for a while, and I tried to use this one; it is unfortunately too hard for me, and for a V5 A55 mouthpiece I come much better with a 2 or 2.5; nevertheless, the reed has a good performance with my yamaha C4 mouthpiece. I am not so a big fan of hard reeds, but this shouldn't be taken as a negative recommendation. If you are into hard reeds, this should be the one.

I bought multiple Vandoren reeds, to test them. I found that this one, in particular, although it has a good response it does not have a "jazz" sound.

Not my favourite Vandoren reed

I always feel (even with the softer options) like I'm blowing through dry grass - it always rustles and I do not like that.

Das ZZ ist für den Einsatz im Jazz geschaffen und zeigt dies durch einen satten, voluminösen Ton, leichte Ansprache und gute Substanz. Es hält auch extremen Überblasbelastungen vergleichsweise länger stand und und etabliert sich damit auch im knalligen Rock Pop bereich als wahrer Alleskönner!
