Very nice by themselves
When played with bowls or other bells or chimes, the frequencies overlap generating nice new overtones, almost magic
Long sound and loud, try different hard mallets also

I use the 5 tone chimes for entering into meditation and i am really satisfied. It is maybe a bit hard to transport (would have loved to have a bag with it) but it's robust and not heavy.
