Guitarset or shopping right?

uweh66, 16.11.2009
First of all, it is an entry-level set. For the first grips on the guitar it is quite suitable. However, after some progress, the sound is not necessarily satisfactory, not even with other strings (string changes by the way very easy) ... and install new PUs? .... too expensive compared to the purchase price, although the built-in single coils hum without end (are not humbuckers).

Furthermore, the guitar has a volume control and two x tone (bridge and neck PU) At the latter two you can kill yourself, you can hear no difference. So, soon you will switch to a more expensive and better guitar model. You buy twice instead of once.

The processing of the guitar is good, so far no shortcomings. Also included is a nylon guitar strap with faux leather ends. This one reaches to hang the part in front of the belly. As a beginner, it does not have to be the professional leather belt for over 100 Eu, especially since at first you're more likely to sit down. The cable had after a short time a wobbler on the jack, in addition, 3 meters in length are simply too short.

In any case, you should keep in mind: you can not expect a top instrument for the money. The supplied picks were ok (soft) but I switched to 0.88er, the guitar book: fingering chart and now and then a tablature, there are better, such. B. "Guaranteed to learn electric guitar by Bernd Brümmer (around the 23 Eu) And last but not least the amp: quite ok for the beginning, has enough room for the operation of the room .. Later you can still change to a fat tube.

All in all, next time I would start with a better guitar, choose the amp and the rest of the accessories and buy them. However, those who at the beginning of his "guitarist career" would first like to pretend that he really enjoys it and therefore does not want to spend too much, are still well served here.

The initial guitar

xDD, 31.12.2009
This is the guitar that most will buy as their first guitar. For the price it is made for the beginning.

Pick-Ups:
I bought them at the beginning of 2007 in the set with the amp. I still play on her now and then. The Pick-Ups take a lot of background noise and you should not be near a radio source (mobile phone, cordless devices, etc.) or a PC, because then unpleasant noises from the amp come. However, realtively good sound comes from the pick-ups .

Fals, frets, machine heads:
The neck of the guitar is not too thick, so you can still drum drum grasp. The frets have an optimal height for beginners, so you can play well over the frets without disturbing them. Strings can also be put on well. But the mechanics are not very stable, so they were difficult to screw up after only one year.

Bridge:
A bigger stain for me was the bridge with the tremolo. Although it is nice to have a tremolo, but those who have used the tremolo often and pressed quite deep, the strings have been greatly detuned.
Besides, it was sometimes hard to get the strings out of the bridge. If you have problems, you just have to cut a small bass into the opening (where the strings are coming out of the bridge) and pull it out loud, so that the strings jump down. What I find good at the bridge is that you can adjust the string height.

Belt support:
The bracket looked quite stable at first, but after a lot of play the screw was broken. Was not so nice. You have to drill another hole, so you can hang the guitar around you again. But if the wood gives way too and the screw loosens, you can not even hang the guitar. Therefore, the screw must be fixed at the beginning.

Conclusion:
All in all, it is well built and at the beginning without blemish, but if you want to seriously play guitar, another guitar should grow in the future, or in these new pick-ups and a new bridge. So you can use them as a substitute guitar.
