Flt does not spoil the fun of playing

M.Sch., 25.02.2010
We bought this flute about 1 1/2 years ago for our daughter. She has been playing the flute for a total of two years now. We had a bit of a guilty conscience because it was not a "brand flute".

The concerns were, in retrospect, completely unnecessary. My daughter does often and gladly, she plays now in the youth orchestra and both the sound, the volume and the allusion behavior is as far as I hear (in comparison!) As well as what my daughter reported so no difference to expensive transverse flutes.

I suspect that it will be a better flute at some time (also more expensive), but not because this flute is no good, but because the expressions of my daughter will eventually exceed the possibilities of a beginner. I think this flute is a good choice. There is also one important aspect: making music is fun. Pressure because of expensive instruments should not be exercised in my opinion.

So far, nothing has been broken, my daughter is also very carefully with her flute.

There are beginners who have stopped, although they have (for my terms) very expensive instruments. This is in my opinion not if it does not work.

Why "only" 4 points? Well. I think this is an excellent result for a flute of this price class.

The Thomann FL 200 is based on the YFL 211.

The sound is not quite as round and dukel as with the YFL 211, but somewhat brighter but therefore also more enforceable. The flute is coherent in itself (so far at a = 442 Hz) all moods can be reached.

The approach is not quite as easy as with the representatives of Yamaha or Pearl but also still in the green range. The flaps have so far not bent and also the springs are still intact (after 4 years, moderate use). The tone holes are (as usual with flutes usual) and the cushions are also still tight.

The silvering is slightly easier compared to Yamaha (but is not a sound or play criterion), but it is still very good (no peeling off or so).

The suitcase is however rather not ideal, since a castle now no longer closes (here one could get cheap replacement).

The flute is well-suited for beginners because of the price as a secondary instrument or as an experimental instrument.
