Teenage Engineering EP-136 K.O. Sidekick

This mixer is very easy to use and is obviously useful for connecting other pieces of gear and controlling their levels and frequencies with the faders and filters. The punch in effects are also very fun and satisfying to use. I am very happy with it and it is allowing me to do things I was having trouble doing without it.

One thing that should be noted is the 3.5mm audio jacks on the top for channel 1 and 2 are very close together and many of the cables I had to hand could not fit in both at the same time. I luckily was able to find two thin cables but it is worth checking that you have some cables with thin ends or getting new ones so you're able to use this device.

Habe den Sideckick gemeinsam mit einem Elektron Syntakt und einem Dreadbox Typhon laufen als Liveset. Nutze ihn als Mixer, EQ, Effektkiste, mit Kompressor.

Die Tempoerkennung funktioniert TADELLOS, wirklich toll.
Die Features des Sidekick sind wirklich zahlreich und absolut live-tauglich.
Verarbeitung ist gut, er ist sehr leicht und vollends aus Plastik, bei der Langlebigkeit bin ich mir "noch" nicht sicher. Dabei fällt mir vor allem das Batteriefach ein, ich nutze wiederaufladbare Amazon-Batterien die bekomme ich nur mühsamst aus dem Batteriefach raus, die halten bombenfest, zu fest.

Die Effekte funktionieren wunderbar, vor allem der beat-repeat und der Tape Effekt (geht auch rückwärts! und vorwärts?!) mega!

Die verschiedenen EQs und Kompressortypen sind einfach Top! Den Eq habe ich nun so eingestellt, dass er wenn der Low/High regler nach links gedreht wird ein high oder low cut gesetzt und nach rechts gedreht wird ein peak erzeugt wird. Super sinnvoll.

Also für mein Livesetup aus 2 Geräten eine wirklich sinnvolle und featurereiche Erweiterung.

Ein Manko gibt es jedoch, die Inputs AUX-CH1-CH2 liegen so nahe beieinander, dass es NICHT möglich ist z.B. Kabel von Cordial zu nehmen (außer man nutzt AUX und Ch2 dann ist genug Platz dazwischen). Ich musste dann tatsächlich um 14€ pro Stück 3 Teenage Kabel zukaufen (was doch sehr sehr teuer ist).
