Ich habe schon viele Bässe in den Händen gehalten, aber der Sterling StingRay ist in Sachen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut. Wer den legendären "Knurren" des großen Bruders sucht, wird hier definitiv fündig, aber in passiver Ausführung.

Design & Bespielbarkeit
Schon beim Auspacken beeindruckt das zeitlose Design. Der Hals liegt fantastisch in der Hand – das satinierte Finish fühlt sich unglaublich geschmeidig an und ermöglicht blitzschnelle Lagenwechsel ohne Klebenbleiben. Die Korpusform ist ergonomisch perfekt ausbalanciert, was auch bei längeren Gigs den Rücken schont.

Der Sound
Das Herzstück ist natürlich der massive Humbucker in Brückenposition. Von drahtigen, perkussiven Slap-Sounds bis hin zu warmen, schiebenden Bässen für Rock und Funk – dieser Bass setzt sich im Mix immer durch. Besonders beeindruckend ist die Definition der tiefen Saiten; hier matscht absolut gar nichts. Und all dies mit nur einen Volumenregler und einer Höhenblende.

Fazit:
Der Sterling StingRay ist kein bloßes „Einsteigermodell“, sondern ein echtes Arbeitstier. Er fängt die Seele des Originals perfekt ein und sieht dabei auch noch verdammt gut aus. Eine klare Kaufempfehlung für jeden, der Druck im Tieftonbereich sucht!
