Simple bias feed adapter
Timo Q., 24.08.2016
I have a cost-effective bias feed adapter for a Sennheiser AB booster searched and found. The UABIAST unfortunately delivers only 12V but with an assumed distance of 50 m and Aircell 7 is completely sufficient to supply the booster since this works down to 10V still. The voltage drop would be only 0.4% at a power consumption of 50mA and can therefore be ignored.
The processing is good. The power supply is not a plug socket but an intermediate cord and is equipped with a Euro plug. Furthermore, the power supply has to fix fixing lugs around this ZB with screws or cable ties.
The feeding adapter itself provides unfortunately absolutely no fastening possibility. So you have to build something here with cable ties or tape. The power connection on the UABIAST is designed in such a way that the plug is sunk in the feed adapter. This secures the plug somewhat but is not a proper strain relief.
A short BNC RG58 cable is included.
To the price .... well so synonymous DVB BIAS adapter cost about ¤10, -. Since here the customer circle is not quite so large is the price of course. The technique is, of course, the same.
Conclusion: Quality fits - only a star trigger due to the lack of attachment of the BIAS itself. Currently the cheapest bias adapter for radio links on the market.
