In recent years, Gibson have been fitting poorer quality bridges as standard to their USA made instruments. I have seen several branded "PM" which I believe are made in China. The chrome plating on these has typically been less than perfectly smooth and the depth of colour looks somewhat less.
I find the Schaller GTM-C to be the perfect replacement, both in terms of tone and visual appearance. The fact that these bridges do not come pre-notched is perfect for me as a luthier, because it means I can correctly adjust it for string gauge, pole spacing and fingerboard radius. This may mean that for a DIY person, it would be better to have the bridge installed by a competent repairer unless you have the correct tools and are confident to do the necessary filing.
You should be careful to check the inserts, threading and post diameter and post centre spacing to make sure this is suitable for your instrument. The Schaller website has very detailed information on these dimensions.
If you want to upgrade your guitar with a top quality bridge, then this may be the perfect choice.

Actually, I just wanted to exchange the slightly creepy-looking parts of my Ibanez Talman. Because my aggressive fear welding has left the chromed parts over the years. The SCHALLER GTM-C fits with its smaller threaded bushings exactly into the threaded bushings of the Ibanezsteges. Also the distance is right. Possibly. The connection should be secured with some glue. The six little horsemen have no scores. These are best placed with a key file (triangle shape or round for the thicker strings) after drawing very carefully. The strings must not lie on edges.
The setting is completely unproblematic thanks to the wide setting range and succeeds with a guitar saver, best with a pointer. If the slightly wider GTM-C is used with a guitar with an extreme Carved Top or a Semi-Acoustic, the Stop-tailpiece has to be turned out high enough so that the strings really only rest on the small riders. This may require longer screws.
Even as an accomplished guitarist, I was not badly surprised at how big the influence of a bridge on the sound of a guitar can be. Even without amplification, each string had more punch and dynamics. At the tube amp all lights went on.
