The tone of the strings was distinctly metallic, with a tendency for the upper strings to overpower the lower ones. Over time the upper (unwound) strings acquire a metallic rasp which became quite unpleasant after about 6 weeks. The pricing of these strings is very attractive compared with other brands. They work well on tenor guitars and correspond very closely to the recommended diameters for an acoustic tenor guitar in Chicago tuning.
Fantastic value for money, they're not the best gypsy strings on the market, but probably the best value for money. They give that "twang" attack you look for in gypsy jazz. The ball ends I've found are easier than trying to mess around with the loop ends, and I change my strings very often so it's less hassle.
