C
Paul’s guitar rocks
CRKT 07.07.2026
I’ve owned and played quite a few guitars over the years, and I have to say the PRS SE Paul’s Guitar in Slate Blue has genuinely exceeded my expectations.

The first thing that stood out was the build quality. Everything feels solid and well put together, with smooth frets, a comfortable neck, and a beautiful Slate Blue finish that looks even better in person than it does in photos. It feels like a much more expensive guitar.

Sound-wise, it’s incredibly versatile. The TCI “S” pickups have plenty of clarity and warmth, and the individual coil taps actually produce usable single-coil tones rather than just a weak humbucker sound. I can comfortably go from clean blues and funk to classic rock and heavier tones without feeling like I’m compromising.

Tuning stability has been excellent, and the guitar arrived well set up with low action and great intonation. It’s one of those instruments that makes you want to keep playing because it feels so comfortable.

For the money, I honestly think this is one of the best guitars you can buy. PRS has done an outstanding job of bringing many of the features and feel of their higher-end models into the SE range. If you’re considering one, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It’s become one of my favourite guitars, and I can see myself keeping it for a very long time.
