The Best Mallets money can buy!

These bass drum beaters are superb. Beautifully weighted, sturdy and versatile, the range provides everything you could possibly need in the world of orchestral bass drum playing!! Yes, they are at the upper end of the price bracket, but they are certainly worth the money and will last a lifetime if kept well. Mine only sound better and better as they play in further and I love using them. A must buy! The BD-10s are my go-to mallet for most things. Good general sound, but articulate enough to still get rhythms across well but without losing the quality of sound. I'm lucky I have choices for the varied venues and ensembles I play with, but these mallets are a firm favourite and are my starting point for everything.

Sehr gute Schläger für Konzerttrommel - aber günstigere Alternative verfügbar

Wir suchten bei uns im Musikverein neue Schläger für unsere große Konzerttrommel. Gespielt werden sollten damit einzelne Schläge (sowohl pianissimo bei einem symphonischen Stück als auch fortissimo bei z.B. einem Marsch) und Wirbel, es musste also ein Schlägerpaar her.

Bestellt haben wir folgende drei Schläger-Paare:
- Kaufmann Bass Drum Mallet 152 (81€)
- Playwood Bass Drum Mallet BD-10 (115€)
- Playwood Bass Drum Mallet BD-10H (79€)

Um das Ergebnis vorweg zu nehmen, wir haben die beiden Playwood-Schläger behalten und die Kaufmann-Schläger wieder zurück gesendet.

Im Gegensatz zu den beiden Playwood-Schlägern fällt der Kaufmann-Schläger doch sehr weich aus. Damit wird ein piano-Schlag auf der Konzerttrommel leider unmöglich, da man der Trommel nur ein Brummen entlockt, und keinen einzelnen Ton.

Ganz anders die beiden Playwood-Paare. Die Schläger fallen beide ziemlich hart aus, was jedoch absolut kein Nachteil ist. Mit beiden ist ein klarer Schlag möglich und in allen Dynamiken gut darzustellen. Auch ein Wirbel, der im Pianissimo anfängt, ist kein Problem.
Der BD-10H wird zwar als Extra-Hart angegeben, ein Unterschied in der Härte zum normalen BD-10 ist jedoch fast nicht festzustellen.
Deshalb würde ich eher zum BD-10H raten, da hier das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis wesentlich besser ausfällt, aber ansonsten keine großen Unterschiede zum 36€ teureren BD-10 auftreten.

Super Schläger. Reagieren sehr angenehm, für alle Lautstärlen zu gebrauchen, egal ob Wirbel oder Einzelschläge.
