Beautiful Ukulele
This Ukulele was a bought as a birthday gift for my daughter who has longed for a Ukulele for some time now. She had only stipulated that it should either be aqua green in colour or simply made of wood. The amount of choice on the Thomann site is huge and when I found one in aqua green, I knew I had come to the right place. The website has plenty of clear photos of the product and a good description. There are also helpful reviews. I was happy with the product but wanted to check out the wooden ones too. This was more difficult because, again, there was a vast amount of choice. Once I saw the picture of the Ortega RU5mm Ukulele, I knew this was the one for my daughter. It arrived on time and was packaged well. I was able to track the parcel too.
The Ortega RU5mm is truly beautiful. It has a quality feel, the wood is silky to touch. The edging detail around the outside is a lovely decorative touch and is crafted perfectly. The butterfly design that is etched into the wood on the face side is delicately done and adds beauty to this item. The sound of this Soprano Ukulele is so cheerful and totally as expected. The sound is crisp, it is easy to tune and light to hold. There is nothing about this product that disappoints. You simply can't stop holding it, playing it and just looking at it - it's beautiful.

Great Ukelele - Perfect present for interesting young kids in music
We bought this one and one of the other cheaper harley benton ones. I have played ukes before and this one has a beautiful tone, easy to play. Bought for my 11 year old sister (who plays piano quite well) as she has trouble playing guitar her hands being still small, and it worked out great!
She absolutely loves it and has got the hang of it almost instantly as did my older non-music literate sister. It is that easy to play, and and they are both taking a lot of interest!
I would get it as a first ukelele again if i need to. What's more it's got a beautiful finish and servicing was excellent.
The only thing I would find useful that was 'missing' is an in-built pick-up system - but it's uke after all.
