Boost Overdrive
The DCX Boost's EQ and OD modes provide an enormous range of gain, from clean boosts and subtle colourations to low-gain drives and almost fuzz-like sounds
In EQ mode, Adaptive Circuitry allows the treble to remain completely flat when the pedal is set to clean, with a subtle drop in treble gradually increasing as the tone begins to overdrive
In OD mode, this treble drop is always active, regardless of signal level or playing dynamics.

Origin Effects are geniuses

Take the legendary sound of the UA 610 tube preamp and add an ultra-musical equalizer. You can then use it as a light equalizer/subtle crunch, or to get the typical saturation (or even fuzz) of mixing consoles. But at the end of the day this has became an always on pedal on my board... another win from Origin Effects

Gut aber nicht für mich…

Nettes Preamp Pedal mit eingeschränktem EQ. Als Boost gut zu gebrauchen, als EQ und Toneshaper leider weniger und auch der Overdrive Sound hat mich allerdings nicht überzeugt.
Insgesamt kommt bei mir das Gefühl auf, dass ich mit anderen Pedalen bessere Ergebnisse für weniger Geld bekomme. Nicht, dass der DCX Boost nicht gut klingen würde, nur finde ich den Sound etwas fad und auch der sogenannte „adaptive circuit“ scheint nur bedingt einsetzbar, da das Pedal schnell anfängt die Höhen zu killen.
Alles in allem kann ich in Anbetracht des hohen Preises keine Empfehlung aussprechen.

Meine Eindrücke:

Für manche mag die Art der Sättigung interessant sein, mir gibt sie jetzt nichts besonderes.

Die beiden EQ Potis sind wirklich toll. Vor allem der Bass Regler ist fantastisch um mulmige Tonabnehmer zu fixen, oder dünn klingende Gitarren zu unterfüttern.

Der Adaptive EQ könnte für manche sehr wertvoll sein. Er dämpft hohe Frequenzen abhängig von der Anschlagsstärke. Ich mache das am Ende aber doch lieber mit meinen Fingern.

Fazit: Special Interest Pedal. Den EQ hätte ich gerne separat... für viel weniger Geld.

Indispensable pour le blues (entre autre) et un jeu tout en feeling

Pour moi, ce qui fait que cette pédale est différente des autres est le fameux "adaptive circuit". Cela permet d'avoir de la clarté à bas volume ou avec une attaque douce et des aigües qui ne seront pas criards à volume plus fort ou avec une attaque plus franche. On peut passer d'un son cristallin à un overdrive rond et sweet rien quand modulant le jeu de guitare. Je l'ai utilisée de bien des manières, mais actuellement et c'est le must parmi les dizaines de combinaisons d'overdrives et d'effets que j'ai achetés (et revendus), je la place dans une chaine avant un ToneX dont j'utilise les simulations en DI (sans cab) en attaquant un ampli acoustique (AER). Le son et l'expressivité sont simplement géniaux, l'encombrement ridicule et la toneX gagne en expressivité et réactivité grâce à l'adaptive circuit (circuit analogique). Rien à envier ou si peu à mon Mesa Boogie studio 22+ de 1985 que j'hésite à bouger désormais et qui à mon avis restera là où il est comme une relique respectable d'un temps ancien...
