Versatile value for money

Mooer MSC10 Pro Guitar Vintage White

A modern ST guitar with an HSS pickup configuration is one of the most adaptable and versatile instruments there is – guitars like this can be put to good use in almost every musical context imaginable. From sparkling clean sounds to aggressive high-gain riffs on the bridge pickup, anything is possible. The Mooer MSC10 Pro Guitar Vintage White is an excellent example of just such a modern guitar, and at an astonishingly affordable price. The MSC10 will impress even experienced guitarists with its flawless playing feel, courtesy of its matte-finish roasted maple neck, fitted with an ebony fingerboard that has 22 nickel silver frets.

Between vintage and modern

The Mooer MSC10 Pro comes in a high-gloss vintage white finish, and its classic design is rounded off with chrome hardware and a beige pickguard, so the whole package is very easy on the eye. But players should not be fooled by the vintage look! This is an instrument bursting with modern features: The fingerboard, for instance, has a flat 12" radius, which gives players the comfortable playing feel associated with contemporary instruments. And the heat-treated maple neck doesn't just look good – the process also ensures more stability and durability, while giving the guitar a noticeably dry and percussive sound. Mooer has implemented a very deliberate and cohesive mix of specifications here, guaranteeing great playability.

Tonal diversity

Anyone looking for a fully up-to-date ST guitar that combines wonderful playability with decent specs will find that the Mooer MSC10 Pro Guitar Vintage White is an excellent, affordable option. To offer the greatest possible tonal diversity, the MSC10 Pro has an HSS pickup configuration with Mooer's own proprietary pickups – two quality single coils in the neck and middle positions, and a humbucker at the bridge. The pickups can be individually selected and combined using the five-way switch, and the guitar's sound can be further adjusted and individualised using the volume control and the dual tone pots. Despite its affordability, however, this guitar is not just aimed at beginners – more ambitious musicians also get an instrument that can cover a whole range of genres and playing styles, thanks primarily to its coherent, modern set of specs.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Phenomenally adaptable

The Mooer MSC10 Pro Guitar Vintage White is a successful combination of contemporary playability, traditional aesthetics, and tonal versatility. It's an instrument ideally suited to learning a huge variety of music genres and playing styles, from Jazz to Metal. An electric guitar like this enables guitarists to play a vast range of music authentically, without having make much in the way of compromises. It would be wrong, though, to think of it as merely a beginner's guitar - more advanced players will also find they can work well with the MSC10 when they are on the go, perhaps using it as a backup in a number of different settings. And to carry it from A to B in style, there's a Mooer gig bag included in the (already very competitive!) price.

Mooer Is More

Having played guitar for 4 decades a lot of instruments pass through your hands. Visually this is a lovely looking guitar. Nice weight, smooth machine heads. The frets on this particular example are pretty good just a very very very slight edge on three. Nothing really, 5 minutes easy fix.
Plays really nice, plenty of sound variation from the pick up switches. The humbucker bridge pickup is a potent new best friend with a kick down the door booming menace of a presence. From soft and gentle to a thunderous roar/ Rock, Jazz Blues, Country are all easily covered. It stays in tune after big bends and tremolo karate and fresh out of the box, intonation, string height were all spot on. A refreshing change was I didn't have to tinker and fiddle around with this Mooer all I had to do was plug it in. It's fun to play and sounds much more expensive. The value for money on this is astonishing. Affordable guitars when I was very young had many setbacks flaws and faults. That was the trade off for lower spendability...These days and this Mooer is a perfect example you can get a genuinely excellent instrument for a relatively low amount of your hard earned money. 4.5 stars total.

Belle surprise
