Marshall JVM215C

Guitar combo amp

Gone are the days when you only had to run your finger once along all potentiometers of your Marshall to achieve the classic rock sound (as well as tinnitus). The JVM215 is a 2-channel amp with 50 Watt power, but has much more to offer.

First and foremost: the sound. Leaving the clean sound aside (clean/crunch green mode), it is simply, exquisitely Marshall and covers everything from rustic Plexi sounds to modern high gain. The other sound is an atypical American clean sound that you won't hear often from the Brits, but sounds great.

On to colour theory: the clean/crunch channel offers 3 variations - green, orange and red (we know that from the other Marshall models, right?). On orange it is Plexi-style, while red takes you to the crunchy '80s.

It carries on in the lead channel - there you'll find gain in all dimensions, without mush and typically snappy. If necessary, more tame sounds can also be generated by a programmable 4-way foot switch with which all switch functions can be controlled.

In the combo version with a 12" speaker, the amp offers a compact, non-tinny, open sound that is easy to transport. Great sound with great flexibility.

The ultimate sound box

Detlev L., 16.02.2010
Features and Flexibility:
The amp delivers, so to speak, ALL Marshall Sounds of the history, which is equal to the beginning. Here you have in transportable form (more or less, 26 kg are already difficult) dozens of different Marshall sounds available.

Operation and sound:
This is both the advantage as well as the disadvantage: one must deal very intensively with the amp. This was easier with my JCM 800, turn on and the sound was there and actually with every guitar official. With the JVM, depending on the guitar and the Gaingrad, clearly "unsightly" sounds are possible, but that brings the diversity with it.

What struck me at the amp extremely was the clearly noticeable Einspielzeit. In the beginning, the sound was not like the amp in the store. Both the tubes and the speakers seem to need some samples and appearances, and especially different volumes to provide the desired Marshall sound. Now after 2 months the sound is great in all settings.

But please, he is not as great as from an old JCM 800, since there are still small differences, but the amp is more flexible and in all music styles at home. But who puristically searches the old JCM 800 sound, must also buy one and live with the disadvantages of the "old" technique (no reverb, no effect path, only one gain stage, possibly amplified noise or hum).

Whoever is looking for the most flexible Marshall will be very happy with the JVM 215 C Combo. For my three guitars (Strat, Tele with Humbucker and SG with P90), the Amp has solved some problems because a guitar change is now possible without "screws" at the potentiometer, simply by choosing another gain stage (excellent solved with the 4-way switch) , there

Rock'n'roll!

Maxime533, 11.11.2012
Where to start ? This amp is simply genialissime.

Two channels - a clean / crunch, an overdrive - each with 3 modes defined by the LED colors (green, orange, red), ranging from the least saturated to the most saturated.
Buttons everywhere that allows to modulate its sound at will.
A beautiful finish ... this amp is perfect!

For sound, what to say apart from British and Vintage as I like it. The clean sound is simply a treat. We tend to want to get out a good little blues like we do more. As soon as one climbs into saturation, an irresistible desire to chain power chords and riffs that comes straight from the bottom of the den to Beelzebub.

When the channel overdrive ... a breathtaking saturation. The arpeggios hold out. Although the saturation is very high, the sound remains clean and does not end in an incomprehensible hubbub.

A real little wonder!

The negatives? Well I have not been long enough to start complaining. The only downside (but it's really if you're looking for the little beast) is its weight ... but you do not choose an amp based on its weight.

In short ... Marshall did a very good job! I highly recommend it
