Harley Benton BLOCK-115V

Excellent cabinet, for the price. I have had an initial play with the cabinet and it goes loud, has a nice clear tone, the sound typical of a 15", punchy, nice midrange and with the tweeter off subdued highs, even at low volumes you get that 15" thump. I have found a rattle in my room, that was not present with my 12" cabinet, so some hunting to do. Personally I prefer it with the tweeter turned off, for that classical 15" sound. My only gripe would be not being to attenuate the tweeter, but at the price I think it is to much to expect, and I am happy with the response of the cabinet with it off. I have the Harley Benton Block 800 that I plan to use with this cabinet, to give me a more laid back retro sound, so far it is ticking all the boxes, especially with my basses with flatwound strings. Don't let the price deter you from this cabinet, it is perfect for that 15" cab sound, especially when I use my Broughton audio Fliptop pre-amp (an Ampeg B15 simulation pedal).
