Where two worlds meet

Harley Benton BJU-15Pro banjo ukulele

For those torn between a banjo and a ukulele - or who simply love exploring new stringed instruments - the Harley Benton BJU-15Pro banjo ukulele provides the perfect blend of the two. Combining the best of both worlds, this unique instrument not only looks stylish but also features a louder, crisper, and more assertive sound than a traditional ukulele, ensuring that the player will stand out at any gathering. For those seeking a distinctive tone, the BJU-15Pro boasts Harley Benton's renowned craftsmanship at an affordable price, featuring a brass-coloured rim, maple headstock veneer, and rosewood binding for an elegant touch.

Solid craftsmanship

The Harley Benton BJU-15Pro's rich acoustic sound comes from its closed-back maple rim paired with an 8" Remo BJ-0800-M2 head. Complementing this is a maple neck, finished in a natural dark matte varnish like the rim body, and a blackwood fingerboard with 19 frets, while twelve tension rods secure and tighten the head. At the BJU-15Pro's bottom end, the strings are anchored by a brass-coloured tailpiece with a dedicated tension screw, before passing over a maple/blackwood bridge and, at the other end, through a 35mm-wide graphite nut. The four vintage-style open-gear machine heads on the headstock in turn ensure reliable tuning and add a striking visual touch.

A slightly different uke...

For those who find the sound of a traditional ukulele too soft, quiet, or ordinary - or wish to protect their main instrument from excessive wear - the Harley Benton BJU-15Pro banjo ukulele offers a compelling alternative. With a 15.4" scale length and 19 easily accessible frets, the BJU-10 model provides a smooth transition for traditional ukulele players. Given the affordable price, this unique instrument is an excellent choice for those eager to explore the distinctive sound or add something a little out of the ordinary to their ukulele setup.

All I could ask for at a Thomann price
Dave the Uke 14.10.2017
Must admit to being more than pleasantly surprised when I opened my latest package from Thomas, a Harley Benton BJU15-PRO Banjo Ukulele. This Ukulele has features on it that are on a par with other Banjo Ukes more than three times its price. It will definitely accompany me at all my gigs. The sound it very good, the resonator doing its job extremely well, (so much so it can be heard next door, think my next purchase will be a mute!) on a par with some of my more expensive and antique Banjo Ukes, let it be said I think the great George Formby would have had fun on this Uke. My Uke instructor Phil Doleman, also commented (google him for more info), remarked for the price (don't let this put you off) what an excellent job it does. As for Thomas from order to delivery Germany to UK in 3 1/2 days, thats going some. Allied to this the excellent guarantee package, just makes one think, thank my lucky stars I chose Thomann, so much so all my future musical purchases will be from Thomann, can't recommend them enough. Whats not to like about this Uke absolutely nothing, purchase it with confidence, you won't regret it one iota.

C
Great Product and excellent service
Chrisofmanc 24.06.2020
As others have said, this banjolele is fantastic value for money. The build and quality compares to instruments 2 or 3 times this price. I think other reviews have covered all the features and technical details. I wanted to give a shout out to the Thomann team and the Customer Service. Comms were excellent throughout and delivery times were amazing (I'm in the UK), especially during the current pandemic. I have had deliveries from within the UK that have taken longer from the point of sale/order! I ordered 2 items and 1 wasn't in stock so the Thomann team arranged a split delivery and the in-stock item was delivered super quickly. They kept me informed of the other item and as soon as it was in stock that was dispatched as well. I can not fault the service from Thomann and will definitely be using them again, whether its for another instrument or other large purchase, or accessories and smaller items. First impressions mean a lot and my first dealing with Thomann was impressive so I'll be returning to a trusted seller for my next purchase. Thanks guys.

Excellent value for money ukulele banjo.
Duckstone 028 20.12.2019
Bought for amusing myself at home and I must say that it does the job very well. It is good as, if not better than the banjo ukes at twice the price, one of which I have made a comparrison with.On arrival I found the head to be quite slack but after carefully tightening it in stages it really came to life. I also changed the bridge for a two footed type as I think the original bridge is a bit heavy and cumbersome. In my opinion it now has a great snappy bright and loud sound. Overall I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone interested in buying a banjo uke.

Thomann QC
TheBuyer 26.09.2019
Just received this Ukeulele and considered it okay for the price . There was a card in the strings to state it had been through Thomann Quality Control - Hallelujah a perfect instrument. Not so fast, my friends.. The action was very low for a Uklele, about 1.75mm - not causing too much of a problem , but too low for me. The drum was tuned to D# but not evenly in fact piss poor. Going through the normal string tension exercise for several days things seemed "about" normal, then PING, the damn tailpiece disengaged and the strings flew where they desired. This generated one rather irritated customer. When reattaching the tailpiece it was obvious that the tailpiece was actually secured by at most half a turn of thread - WTF. This has been through Thomann Quality Control, what kind of QC operative thinks that's okay - NONE in my opinion. Harley Benton appears to have a good reputation in guitars, if this is Harley Benton quality in Ukuleles I reckon I'll buy KMISE and expect to set it up properly myself. My recommendation is to buy a KMISE as this is a total joke - although I'll make it playable, because I have the ability to set it up.
