Bright, Clear, Rich & Powerful
When looking to purchase a new amp I tried everything I could find, and found myself drifting more and more towards Fender, and two stood out for me, the Princeton Reverb, and the 59 Bassman.
The Bassman blue me away with it's super clear tones; smooth on the normal channel, sharp on the bright. Perfect for blues, rock, country, folk, and jazz, particularly if you have the right pedals (essential really, because getting the Bassman to distort is almost impossible unless you have it turned up to 12 with a Les Paul). I have to say also that presence functions should mandatory on all guitar amps, as the subtle improvements of a good presence control cannot be overstated.
I would recommend this for anyone is looking for a high-end valve amp with plenty of power and beautiful tone. And needless to say the tweed casing is a thing of beauty.

Fender 59 Bassman LTD
Great sound! I have used this amp in the studio several times for bass guitar, Violin, Keys; always getting amazing sound. Great for rehearsals too. In my opinion not suitable for gigging as I would not risk the amp to get damaged. It does not seem to be sturdy, and Also 40watt is very loud for a guitar, but not so loud for bass guitar as it distorts quite a lot just after going over mark 4 on the volume trigger. There is possibility to patch both channels - bright and normal, which should give us a possibility to get a more diverse spectrum of sounds. The amp is very basic itself, but if you are looking for a sound quality and recording applications this is going to be the best choice you can make for just over £1000.
