The EV ETX-18SP is an active 18" subwoofer with integrated DSP, limiter, and FIR filtering – though its most immediately noteworthy feature is its organic, natural sound. It's robust, flexible, and powerful, so it's just as at home in a gigging and touring context as it is in a permanent installation. The subwoofers of the ETX series are available in 15" and 18" sizes, and three matching 10", 12", and 15" top units are available as well. The ETX speakers are Electro-Voice's flagship range, and as such they're recommended for professional musicians, bands, DJs, and anyone who provides sound for live entertainment. The series boasts a number of technical innovations, such as the QuickSmart DSP – more on that below. But one thing is sure: These are speakers that have been designed to take on any challenge.

Legendary sounds meet innovative technology

Accept no compromises in sound and performance: The EV ETX-18SP has a powerful 1800W Class D power amplifier with an efficiency grade that means it keeps cool even in the hottest environments. For maximum punch, the unit's DVX 18" bass speaker operates inside a 18mm thick, 13-ply, road-ready birch plywood chassis. The maximum sound pressure level is a whopping 135dB. The frequency range is 28–180Hz, with a flexible low-pass frequency at 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, or 150Hz. For the crossovers, Electro-Voice uses FIR filter technology, as found in the company's large concert speaker systems. The proprietary FIR drive design optimises the transducer's linearity for a precise, balanced sound output.

Intelligent workflow

Flexibility and workflow are very important aspects of the ETX series: The integrated QuickSmart Pro DSP scores highly on this front thanks to its intuitive menu navigation (via encoder and LCD), input level control, and master volume control, as well as the special dispersion control technology it uses for the subwoofers – for real cardioid performance across the entire operating range. The ETX-18SP features insert and threaded combo pole cups. Two lockable XLR/jack combo sockets are available on the input side. In addition, there are two XLR link outputs for controlling speakers such as the Electro-Voice ETX-15P. The DSP offers EQ and delay adjustments, as well as different presets for all possible scenarios and locations. Last but not least, the ETX-18SP comes with a convenient setup wizard that helps users of all experience levels to install different top/sub combinations.

All you need are two of EV ETX-18SP and two of EV ETX-35P to build the great PA

I bought two of EV ETX-18SP and two of EV ETX-35P to build the great PA.
The subwoofers have a lot of pressure and it's very easy to use them and adjust.
There are four steerable 100mm wheels on the bottom and you can drive it easy to the stage.
Two of the wheels have a locking device, so that you can stop sub where it should stand.

The front led can be configured on / off or limit display.
It is noticeable that the peak limiter flashes relatively early ( about 120 dB already ) - but this is certainly intent.
And it's really mastered the whole range. 135 dB SPL peak is here definitely not advertising promises,
but real and measured. These are real subs IMHO 50 stars for the pair and highly recommended!

This subwoofer is a great choice because it is well built has a tremendous power also has wheels whitch is quite handy.
This cab is incredible and it can shake a room. I would suggest this sub to anyone looking for a powerful, easy-to-move, clean bass in this price range.

We ordered 2 pcs. A great setup with EV ETX 15 tops. Love the sound and the db. In my opinion a great setup for dj with amazing quality for its money. Good build setup.
