A
Sturdy for alt. tunings
Anonymous 10.08.2014
I've always liked this size of string for my G string as that tends to be one of the ones I play around with the most when I use alternate tunings and the gauge .016 easily withstands whatever pitches I'm tuning it too without snapping or losing any life from the sound. At the current moment I have it tuned up a half step from normal to F# and it doesn't feel overly-tight or close to snapping at al,l which is definitely something I'm very concerned about when I'm buying new strings and experimenting with various gauges and tunings a lot of the time.

Walk on the bright side

If nickel coated is what you are used to these are a tad brighter. Which is what you expect from steel strings. Very fine strings.

016 in regular gauge

I use 016 instead of 017 in regular string gauge on my strats....I don"t know why, but for me...it's a better feeling and sound.

a
great for CBG

I used them for my cigarbox guitar. There are no ready-made sets for CBG, so you have to pick strings individually. They sound good and last a good while.
