Great for practicing!
EdwinT 18.02.2024
Great little fun amp. I can get a great clean tone with chorus and delay as well as an Eric Johnson type lead tone. For all other type of guitar tones, look elsewhere: the crunch tones are very raspy to my ears. The effects are useable and I installed the bt-dual module so I can use the app on my phone which is very handy. I also use a footswitch for tap-tempo and the looper. It's fully featured for this price and has useable tones so for practicing it's great....

FEatures and sounds qre good for me, loud enough for small gigs, well made.
Lines in and out all are superb and plenty usable.
My intention to use insteqd of pedals and as a monitot by the mic, worked out good at the first gig, stereo out to my pa.
A great little machine for me and my style solo guitar, vocqlist,R &R covers.
Thomann got it to my house in a record 2 days, from east to west europe.

Great Little Amp!
Gabey_Nacu 10.07.2025
The Boss Dual Cube LX is a really good amp for the money. It's really been slashed down significantly since its initial RRP (was over £220 back in the day) as its crazy how much tech you get in for the current price - various amp sounds, effects, looper and footswitch versatility.

Does a great "JC" clean sound that is synonymous with most modern Boss/Roland amps ; High Gain sounds are also good without sounding shrill. Edge of breakup tones are not great, but you'll definitely be covered by a few of the amp models on offer.

Effects are simple but sound great ; Chorus and Reverbs had me covered for all my needs. On board Looper is decent if very limited ; worked fine for what it is!

I have used the Boss Dual Cube LX mainly to teach with as it's lightweight, loud and robust. I have also rehearsed with one by using the Line Out into a PA system to great effect!

Stereo inputs make it great for stereo effects (duhh) as well as modellers ; run it via the "Stereo In" mode or go through the Line In with a 3.5mm trs cable for your FRFRsh means (its not that flat though).

It doesn't take 3rd party footswitches well as I could never get the looper working properly unless you use an offiical Boss footswitch (FS7, etc). You'll also need to shell out more for the bluetooth module for streaming audio and deep diving on effects editing (but not essential).

In essense, a great option for those that want an affordable practice amp with more versatility than other amps at the same price point.

Boss Dual Cube LX

I have the Boss Katana mini and Its a big upgrade in terms of the sound. Its louder but I think the katana is more smoothier in terms of sound when connected to the multi-effects. I just tried it for a few hours so maybe some noodling I can spot the tone that I wanted to hear. I think Its worthit compared to others which is more expensive. This has more features to offer for the price you paid. I find that the RC clean is better sound compared to stereo mode when using my guitar multi effetcs.

Overall, the build quality is okay and the sound itself is more than what i paid for. I love it.
