Innovative Anthology with Accompaniments to download and a Selection of Duets.

This is a really imaginative anthology featuring a selection of well known and unfamiliar pieces from the mediaeval “ la Rotta” to Alan Davis’s charming contemporary miniatures - think Bartók meets lyrical jazz. There are many baroque favourites and a couple of pieces by the talented Irish harpist O Carolan, too. The second half of the book contains duets for soprano, soprano and alto, and soprano and tenor. In addition to this, many pieces have accompaniments to download and recordings to listen to. Useful notes on the pieces are included at the back of the book. I thoroughly recommend it.
The only humorous downside is the incorrect translation of “The Voice of the Turtle” by “DIe Stimme der Schildkröte”. I think turtle dove is what the original is getting at!!!

Schönes Notenbuch

Die Stücke sind sehr abwechsungreich und gut spielbar. Für die meisten Stücke sind Audiodateien verfügbar, so dass man mit Musikbegleitung üben kann, wobei man zwischen mehreren Begleitungen auswählen kann.

Wunderbar - vor allem die Playalongs!

Also, das ist mal ein Kracher! Spontan mitbestellt, und bisher jeden Cent wert!
Es sind zwar nicht alle Songs als Playalongs eingespielt, aber das wäre wegen der Vielzahl an Stücken auch zuviel verlangt. Dafür sind die eingespielten Songs alle in verschiedenen Fassungen eingespielt, meist in einer Originalfassung, einer (etwas) langsameren Übungsfassung und verschiedenen Begleitinstrumenten. Die Aufnahmen selbst sind so schön, dass man sie sich auch einfach so anhören kann! Alle Aufnahmen sind mit allen Wiederholungen, wie es geschrieben steht, aufgenommen - also nicht verkürzt.
Notensatz ist schön und übersichtlich; man kann auch Triller üben und ein paar Verzierungen. Manche Stücke haben eine Originalstimme und im zweiten Durchlauf eine Variation, was den Vortrag sehr authentisch macht.

Fazit: Gefällt mir, empfehlenswert! Man lernt eine Menge - und hat genug Beispiele zum Anhören und Mitspielen!

Sehr schöne Notensammlung

Es handelt sich um eine sehr schöne Auswahl an bekannten und auch weniger bekannten Stücken ab dem Mittelalter bis Barock (und dann noch einigen zeitgenössische Stücken, allesamt von Alan Davis). Viele Stücke haben eine angenehme Begleitung, einmal als Demo und einmal zum Mitspielen (teils auch in verschiedenen Tempi).
