Few moments ago received the product.
Main reason to buy this model: Mainly 3.5mm stereo cable connection with studio grade sound. And also offers bluetooth connectivity, so that I can also use it on the travel/outdoor.
After Unboxing: First I connected the 3.5mm stereo cable (that came with the box) with the headphone. Unfortunately I couldn't hear anything. I was nervous, if the headphone connection is dead. After that I tried to connect the bluetooth with my phone. That worked! Then again I tried to reconnect the cable, and found the connector of the phone part is very loose. If I push it hard enough, then I can listen (sometimes one ear, sometimes another or sometimes both. Or sometimes low volume). Sometimes you just not only have to push, but also revolve it harder so that you can make the proper connection. But if you move your head a little, this connection loosens up again.
Then I changed the cable just to test if the default cable that came with the box is faulty! Unfortunately the result is the same for other 3.5mm cable also!! No matter whatever cable I change, the phone connector part is pretty much bad!!!
Then I searched google, and found some reddit threads are talking about same loose cable connection issue!! Wish I could see those earlier..!!
Comfort & Sound quality: It's difficult to give a proper review. Since I didn't test those things that much yet. But the short amount of time I have used this (10/15mins), the comfortability is good. Sound also good (whatever I've heard through bluetooth).
Conclusion: It is really frustrating that this premium grade model has such kind of basic physical connectivity issue. Especially when you buy a headphone with 179€, you donot expect this kind of issue! As my main priority is the cable connection, and then the bluetooth, I am going to return this product.
My doubt: I am not sure, if the other products of the same model have the similar connectivity issue. One of my colleague have the "Audio-Technica ATH-M50X" model. I checked the connection and found it has a locking mechanism. I have no idea, for this "Audio-Technica ATH-M50XBT2", how could they left this locking mehcanism out!!!
Thanks!
