Well engineered.

I have used a variety of clamps - Cardellini's (and variants), Super Clamps (Manfrotto) and the numerous smaller versions (Smallrig, etc).

In my experience : Cardellini-types are strong & simple configuration of robust components, with wide jaws and a variety of shaft lengths to accommodate range of fixing scenarios (Lights/rigs/etc); Super Clamps are more of a 'swiss army knife', offering a compact & very flexible solution to supporting heavier loads, but with a narrow grip; Smaller clamps are very useful way to support lighter bits of kit.

The Python clamps are a refined bit of engineering & shout 'quality'. They offer a strong 'pivot' mechanism akin to super clamps, but with wider & more stable jaws. They are unable to accommodate the large anchoring of the longer Cardellinis. They readily handle medium to heavy loads, though doing so through precision & fit rather than heft.

Possibly better at gripping circular sections than the other clamp options, they also minimise the risk of crushing. Would also note that the jaws themselves have a relatively slender profile and can probably access narrower and more awkward gaps compared to the other clamps.

They all have their place, but these are impressive.

Not as sturdy looking as the manfrotto equivalent, but more than good enough for mounting a small light or camera.
