Valeton GP-100

It's cheap, great build quality, great sounding amp sims, distortions and effects! Perfect portable rig.

I have gotten tired of having big pedal boards and only want to carry 1 pedal component around, but I also don't want the complication of big confusing menus. So this is perfect, very simplistic and user friendly interface with visuals to help you see what's what.

All the editing can be done straight on the pedal itself without the need to go in to software through your computer if you don't want to. I have not done any software tweaking so far and I've had no issues at all and I don't feel like I'm missing anything because of it.

Tweaking and changing your patch can be done in an instant if you're on the fly or even standing on stage and quickly need to change something you may have forgotten to earlier. *Hinting towards by own forgetfulness*. And with the built in silent tuner you don't need a separate tuner pedal either!

You've also got patches for electric guitar, bass and acoustic guitar so this can be used for all these instruments without issue!

The stompbox feature is what I use all the time and is my main use for this pedal. It basically means you can have certain effects as Always On, and others you can choose to activate or deactivate via the 2 footswitches. An example of this is my patch I got, where I have amp sim, cab sim, reverb and delay as Always On. And I activate/deactivate distortion on footswitch 1 and chorus on footswitch 2.

To me, this is the perfect pedal for any situation whether it's a gig, rehearsal or if I'm just noodling at home. It's also got a decent drum loop you can play along with where you can change tempo and style of the beat. I don't use this too much however so I don't have much to say about it.

It's perfect for th prise.
But not without any problems. USB Driver for the device is working OK on my laptop, but does not work on my desk computer. Without going into details the driver does not work properly on Windows. And what is even worse, i wrote to Valeton's support describing my problem and have not got even a support ticket number. It seems like they do not support their clients at all. I was left one on one with my "partly working" device.

Its not often you buy something that surpasses your expectations but Im dead chuffed with this unit. Just your average time to time player,Ive had a Pod 2 and a Roland Micro cube both of which I liked but this is the one l really connected with and you get the sense of playing a proper amp on it. I was also totally shocked to discover that the USB is Audio In & Out which means I can plug it in to the computer, have my headphones connected to the GP100 and noodle away whilst the output of the computer comes to the headphones too. So useful for practicing against youtube tutorials etc. It was recognised without drivers tho it needed to be on the back usb ports on my MacPro 5,1 after that it worked great. I opened a new project in Logic, hit record and bingo, hi-quality audio recorded straight in, no faffing with mics etc. I really like a lot of the presets and like the Chorus-A a lot. The amps sound nice to me, I only finally learned about the different sounds of each type recently and discovered that my favourite is the Fender Tweed sound and this seems to do that well. Drum machine inside is simple but will be useful. I didnt want to spend a lot of money, just wanted something to practice with headphones on and was amazed at what came in the box. Happy customer.
