I 'm sorry to say men this cable is not reliable.

Some time ago I bought two such cables. One was broken out of the box and I got it replaced.

Now I have made some changes in my studio, opening new recording rooms and lay down new cables in my studio.

I therefore needed the two 15 meter cables to another room and to another input on my RME Fireface 800 sound card.

I move all of these cables from ADAT 1 to ADAT 2 I / O on RME Fireface

The first thing I notice is that they are very hard, it's almost impossible to get them out. They were stuked!

And then when I was on my way to put them in the second slot connections I have a very hard time getting it in, but in the end one of them the goes in. But the other cable is completely impossible to get in. I don?t dare to push harder now, if I instead break my RME Fireface.

This is crazy because I just spent three hours moving these 15 meters long cables through the wall from the control room, through another wall, down below some kitchen furniture and a large stove, along the floor of the two-door lanes, finally to that place where my new ADAT interface is located. The new recording studio room.

I'm getting mad !!! These cables are not reliable ...... sometimes impossible to insert. I suggest that Thoman should stop selling them.

Great cable

If I run out of channels in a project recording situation I can use this cable to run an ADAT interface as a digital multicore (it has saved the day on more than one occasion...)

It's a thicker, more rubberised cable than most optical cables i've used, and seems to be a lot more durable (important over this distance). the only disadvantage is that the heavier metal connectors are tend to wobble out more easily than their flimsy plastic brethren.

Gutes Kabel - Verarbeitung sollte besser werden.

Das Kabel an sich ist sehr gut. Es ist hochflexibel und dadurch bei einer Festinstallation oftmals sogar leichter zu verlegen als Kupferkabel. Zudem ist es mit griffigen Steckerkörpern ausgestattet.
Genau da sitzt allerdings auch ein Mangel, der bereits bei mehreren Kabeln immer wieder vorgekommen ist: Der blaue Steckerkörper, der als Zugentlastung und als mechanischer Schutz der optischen Passung gedacht ist, sitzt oftmals nicht sehr fest. Dann ist die Funktion der Zugentlastung nicht mehr gegeben. Ich verklebe die betroffenen Stecker immer mit einem Tropfen schnelltrocknendem Lack (z.B. Autozubehör). Danach ist alles optimal. Die "Selbsthilfe" erscheint mir sinnvoller als der zeitintensive Reklamationsweg.

Aber an das Thomann-Produkt-Team: Vielleicht mal eine Mängelmeldung an den Hersteller geben.
