Der amtliche Kompressor

Ich habe schon viele verschieden Kompressoren getestet und länger im Einsatz
gehabt, aber der DSM schlägt alle.
Er mußte sich einem Vergleich mit dem Wampler Ego und einem Jackson Audio Bloom stellen, die ich beide auf meinem Board hatte. Kurz gesagt läßt er sich
leichter einstellen, besonders der Switch ist super praxisgerecht. Damit läßt sich
ohne viel Gefummele die Anpassumg am Single Coils, Humbucker oder
aktive Pickups bzw. sogar auch Line Level bei Synthies bewerkstelligen.
Nicht nur optisch, sondern auch soundmäßig ist er einem Neve
Kompressor sehr ähnlich.
Ich komme damit sehr schnell an meine gewünschten Sounds, schneller als bei den
oben genannten. Läßt sich schwer erklären, aber das Konzept scheint für mich besser zu passen. Funky Licks auf Strat oder Tele bekommen den richtigen Kick,
Sustain und „Sweetening“ bei Leads ist auch kein Problem. Die zwei großen Knöpfe
machen ihn schön übersichlich und sind auch bei schummrigen Licht leicht ablesbar.
Schade, daß er keine ein oder zwei Presets hat, das ist aber bei dieser Bauweise nicht möglich oder nur durch digitale Steuerung erreichbar. Deswegen werd ich wohl den Bloom und vielleicht auch den EGO verkaufen und mir einen zweiten
zulegen.
Fazit : Was den Sound, Bedienbarkeit und Praxisgerechtigkeit angeht, kenn‘ ich
kein besseres Gerät. Der bleibt.

Overall I was pleased with the compressor, however, it fairly significantly cuts the low frequencies. For this reason with a bass guitar is almost useless. Floor noise is also slightly higher than I would expect from a product of this class. Definitely higher than the others I have at the moment, which are markbass compressore, orange kongpressor and rack mounted dbx 1066. I had to return it even though I liked the compressor's characteristic.
