I was using an RE20 into a Neve 88M with a Cedar DNS2 on the inserts, in open plan, for speech. I had to make the DNS far too aggressive to cut, in particular, keyboard noise.

Using the DPA 4088, I have been able to back the DNS way off and overall the sound is much better. In a quiet treated room I would still prefer an RE20 but not by that much.

BTW, DPA may not approve, but when you, almost inevitably, put a small kink in the boom, a pair of parallel nylon jawed pliers works well for me.

Ich hab lange hin und her überlegt ob ich mir ein Headset in dieser Preisklasse kaufen soll.
Nach drei Versuchen in der 150 Euro-Klasse - mit denen ich nie so richtig zufrieden war - hab ich mich endlich überwunden.
Nach dem Anschluss des Headset am Mischpult hab ich Gain eingestellt und dann ganz vorsichtig den Kanal hochgezogen weil ich von den alten Headsets eine Neigung zu Feadbacks gewohnt war - und nichts. Bis zu einer guten Probe-Lautstärke trotz Standort recht nahe an der Box kein Feedback.
Und der Klang stimmte auch direkt bei neutraler Klangreglung schon ganz gut. Da war (ähnlich wie bei einem SM58 o.ä.) nur wenig zu machen was eher Feinheiten einer spezivischen Stimme sind.
Klar, die Tiefen musste ich ein wenig anheben da der Kompressionseffekt des zuvor verwendeten dynamischen SM58 entfällt, aber die Stimme kommt jetzt sauber, ohne Feedbacks und mit Bewegungsfreiheit gut und druckvoll rüber. Und der Tragekomfort ist einfach super.
Ich frage mich warum ich nicht schon früher das Richtige gekauft hab ;-)
