Schatten Design HFN Player passiv

I say a few videos of this pickup online and was intrigued so I said I would give it a go,, I have been through many different pickups in many guitars,, This one is definitely one of the best sounding passive pickups. It does however have a pretty low output and really does need a preamp to get the best from it. I have it installed in my Guild GSR f30 and does a good representation of the guitars acoustic sound.. I would save realistically captures around 80% of the guitars true sound which I feel it very good for a pickup.. it is very natural sounding and I feel it is a lot nicer sounding than the K&k and better with handling feedback.. You have two install options, sticky tape and putty, I had best results with the putty. I hope this review helps. !!

I bought the Schatten HFN player passiv pickup a few weeks ago and highly recommend it! It was easy to install. It does have a low output volume but paired with the Schatten mini preamp the volume is great. This pickup really sounds awesome, just like the guitar acoustically, but amplified. I have a K&K pure mini in another guitar and the Schatten sounds much more natural and airy. It hardly needs any EQ but boosting the bass just a bit makes it perfect. Try one!
