Pretty standard quality, ideal for drop tunings
I have recently been on a quest to try as many 7 string sets as possible and find the ideal string set for my Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid PT-7. I have been able to try some La Bella strings and even had the chance to meet the La Bella family at Musik Messe exhibitions. I think they are an excellent family business example in this industry.
I also appreciate their effort in delivering more strings with unique features. Having said that, La Bella strings always remind me of an average string quality for the money you pay.
HRS-73 was not so different. I bought these strings to try with drop tunings as the gauge is pretty thick for standard guitar tunings. I must say, even with flat tuning, they feel still so tense. So in my opinion, one should only get these strings for a whole step down tuning.
Even with the whole step down tuning, they feel pretty rough on your fingers since the strings' core is pretty thick to support these kinds of alternative tunings.
Lifespan-wise, they are pretty standard and start corroding quickly and tend to lose the spark very quickly.
Anyways, these are the reasons why I'm giving 4 stars overall. But don't get me wrong, these strings maybe your favourite if you are aiming for drop tunings. Tight 7 string sound
I am so happy to have found these strings, as with the regular 7 string scale (25.5) you really can't get that tight bottom response with regular string gauges from other brands. That is, if you wish to set your action considerably low. The 64 thickness is perfect if you still wish to drop tune your low B to A. THe sound is nice, clear and bright, they last a long time if you clean them propperly and the tension feels not too tight, so you can still do your bending. A perfect string set for me, i'd reccomend them to anyone looking to reduce a bit of string buzz when using lower action.

Very satisfied with it
I use these strings in a Jackson DKA-7 Dinky Pro, tuned in B (standard for 7-strings). The tension is perfect, and they are bright for enough time. They don't cost a lot, so in general I am very happy with them.

perfect for gigs or band rehearsals, but for recording I might splash on slightly more expensive strings

Best strings ever
I have used so many strings but these are my favourites.
Even when they get old they retain an acceptable sound.

drop tuning
Great for a drop A tuning on a 7 string guitar (25.5 scale). I also tried a 70 gauge for the low A but it was too hard to play.
