Gibraltar SC-4248 Drum Tuning Speed Key

• Not particularly faster than a regular drum key
• Rather affordable
• Funnier to use

I bought one as a backup and haven't needed it much yet.
But for precise tuning of toms, I would use a "normal" drum key.

I had one of these years ago it went missing at some stage so I was delighted when I saw Thomann had them and at a great price! It’s a must for any drummer or roadie to have in their bag of tricks.

Is easy to tune a drum skin with conventional keys.
But this one simplifies the process, due to the fact that you can increase the tension in a continuous movement.
While normal keys force you to turn half way the tuning peg of the drum, stop, re-rotate the key, stop, etc...with the perill to throw the key to the floor, this design allow you to continuosly rotate the tuning peg seamesly, in a continuous motion.
Hyghly recommendable.

This key invention is incredible! Gibraltar just know what a working drummer needs. When changing drumheads, this key is ever so convenient! It allows you to change the heads extremely quickly as it has a swivel assist mechanism that double the speeds of unhinging the lugs. This item is great value for money. A worthy investment

Beter dan meer geavanceerde en duurdere sleutels. Het gaat echt wel vlotter met deze sleutel. Fijnstemmen doe je altijd beter met twee kleinere sleutels, tegenover elkaar. Kwartslagjes. Bij deze drumsleutel kun je lekker doordraaien. Dat scheelt tijd. En soms is tijd belangrijk.

Feels very sturdy and worthy of the speed key name. Very good for changing heads and tuning up

I lost my original one a few years ago, so it was good to find a replacement. it really makes the process of changing drum heads a doddle.

I can't use the key on some of the bolt heads. The size in the corners of the square is 5.75mm but in the middle of the square is a circle cutout that is 6.45mm in diameter so the key skips the bolt's square head's rounded corners. Maybe I got a bad one...

If you need to be able to change heads fast, for recording etc then this will speed things up significantly. A brilliant little design, one of those things that should be in every drummers stickbag.

Does exactly what it says and works better than a traditional drum key. Great for changing out heads. Only downside is it's slightly large and doesn't fit as well in a pocket!
