Got the unit about few months back and since then i only played around with few times for about 10-15 minutes using my laptop as a sound source since i didn't have the players at the time. It all seemed to working fine, but i couldn't help but notice a slight smell of heated electronics which I ignored at the time.
Forward to this weekend when i finally get a pair of cdj's and plan to have a long playing session on the monitors to hear the improved filter experience and all that... i'm just hoping to enjoy the mixer and the quality sound coming out of it. However, my excitement lasted only about 10 mins, at which point the mixer's behaviour turns completely around: all channels go on red no matter the gain levels, cue-mix volume balance is totally disproportionate no matter what i do, filters seems to be acting strange and all of a sudden the master channel goes out with a bang and distorted noise keeps playing through the monitors. The LED's on the master channel are lighting up opposite to each other (left is on red, right one is on the first bar) and there is a significant smell of burnt electronics filling up the entire studio. I unplugged it, left it to cool down and sent it back to Thomann the next day. I appreciate that UPS picked it up quite fast, and it's now on it's way to be serviced.
It's probably one of those experiences that users have with new interpretations/versions of dj gear that prove to be faulty units, but given the fluctuating quality of basically anything these days, i'm just hoping that A&H didn't do a crappy job with the makeover to the original 92. We'll just have to see...
