ADAM Audio Sub 8

After buying a professional pair of in-ear monitors, listening to songs I've been listening to for many years and hearing sounds I never heard before, I realized that all the audio output equipment I used until then was rubbish. It was then when I knew I had to buy professional equipment.

Bought this subwoofer along with a pair of ADAM A5X and they're a good match. The low end is amazingly clear, strong and warm at the same time.

After a lot of listening I came to realize that the subwoofer is a little stronger than the monitors, meaning that if I set all the volumes at 0 dB the subwoofer is a little louder. I found the sweet spot to be setting the monitors at 0 dB and the subwoofer's volume knob parallel to the 85 Hz low band filter position.

The subwoofer itself is bigger and heavier than I expected. The design is a bit bulky and the edges are too sharp. I would also have liked a mute switch for the monitors and the power on button placed in the front.

I mostly use them for entertainment (music, movies, games) and ocasionally for validating mixes of my band's songs. They're great.
