Klon für Anspruchsvolle
Ich wollte den Fault nur zum Testen bestellen...jetzt bleibt er!
Wer mehrere Gitarren und mehrere Amps hat und den guten Klon Sound besser anpassen möchte, wer eine zweite etwas dreckigere Einstellung über die angezerrte Always On Einstellung dazuschlagen will oder einfach nur zwei verschieden dreckige Gain Sounds aus einem Klon haben will - hier ist der klon deiner Träume.
Ich hatte schon mehrere Klon Style Pedals zum Ausprobieren. Unter Anderem den Tumnus Mini - der bleibt auch oder den Warm Audio Centavo - der ging zurück. Der Fault war finanziell nicht eingeplant...jetzt muss das irgendwie passend gemacht werden, weil er einfach zu gut ist!

Josh Scott von JHS hatte wieder einmal recht!
Wenn man wirklich einen guten Klon Clone sucht ohne dabei die Bank sprengen zu müssen, ist dieses Pedal sehr zu empfehlen. Aufgefallen war mir ein Video von JHS mit Josh Scott zu diesem Pedal. Durch die EQ Schieber läßt sich das Pedal an die jeweilige Bandsituation gut und schnell anpassen. Ob eine 50‘s Tele, Strat, 72‘er Jaguar, Gibson Studio oder die M2M Gibson mit P90 - der Sound was verzerrt und artikuliert zugleich. Ist ab sofort fester Bestandteil meines Live - Floorboards!

Rewarding, exciting and a bit finicky
Using this as my main overdrive and distortion pedal on one of my ampless pedalboard setups, with a Friedman IR-X at the end.
Incredibly versatile and allows for (or requires, depending on your preferences) a lot of experimenting with tone and the two different gain stages. The EQ faders are very useful for detailed tone sculpting, and even when the Fault V2 is set up for heavy duty distortion - which it does remarkably well! - your guitar strings are beautifully represented and detailed. As a "milder" overdrive, pushing an already driven sound just a bit more, I find it delivers equally good. It does thick/creamy and bright/screamy and pretty much everything in between, without ever sounding boring.
If you want something very simple, or are already set for your preferred tone, this might not be for you. If you don't mind fiddling around a bit, as the different dials, faders and switches interact quite a lot, this pedal can shoulder the burden of many different overdrives and stretches well into distorted rock territory. Although it took me some hours to wrap my head around all the interactions, this has quickly become my favourite overdrive pedal. At least so far. :)
