Cymbals for those who play softly!

unfortunately my relationship with this brand has not been good. It's true, I play post-punk, I use 5B sticks, but the Zultan are too thin and fragile, and they cut too easily.
It's a shame because the sound is what I love most. Dark and enveloping.

Zultan 18" Q Thin Crash

I have Zultan Caz crashes 17" and 20" and love them for my rock band, but I wanted something a bit more sharp for live performances to cut through the guitars. Also, I didn't want any higher pitched cheap cymbals (I play as an occasional gigging/recording amateur for a very long time, so I'm budget consciouss, but also I have a developed taste for drums and I won't settle for a bad instrument). This is perfect for me! It's louder (I woudn't use it for extreme metal though) and it is darker, without the very shrill overtones, especially this thin version. I would recommend it for rock and similar styles, especially if you don't have an unlimited amount of money to spend on well known pro cymbals, but still want a pro sound for gigs. This sounds much more expensive! This is my fourth Zultan cymbal and I love them all. Never had any problems with them - I'm not extra hard hitter though, but I'm no gentle by any means.

En pleine hésitation entre plusieurs cymbales de Zultan, petite surprise de voir débarquer tout fraichement des nouveaux modèles de la Q series.
J'ai la Ride Q en 23', et je ne pensais pas prendre ces modèles en crash car trop épaisses pour moi.
Mais celles-ci sont du coup plus fines, alors je me suis laissé tenté par la 18 après avoir demander la différence à thomann.

Alors qui dit plus fine dit plus sombre au niveau du son, il faut aimer mais moi c'est ce que je cherchais.
Ca respire la qualité quand on l'a en main, et niveau visuel c'est de la Q series, donc magnifique.

A ce prix, c'est du tout bon, ça trouvera forcément sa place dans votre set de cymbales!

Solides Becken für günstiges Geld

Ein altes, von mir bespieltes Becken hat nach einigen Jahren nun den Dienst quittiert. Dadurch war ich in der Not, mir ein neues Becken (18") als Ersatz zu kaufen.

Hierbei ist mir dann das Zultan 18" Q Thin Crash aufgefallen. Für den Preis von ca. 130€ konnte ich mich für die Größe überhaupt nicht beschweren.

Nach der Ankunft habe ich es direkt ausgepackt und angebracht.

Für ein Thin Crash hat das Becken schon ein deutliches Gewicht, wovon ich sehr überrascht war. Das erste Anspielen mit unterschiedlichen Sticks hat mir gezeigt, dass es doch einen sehr tiefen Klang hat, anders als in den bekannten Videos angegeben - das war allerdings kein Problem sondern hat mir gut gefallen.

Die erste Probe mit dem Becken hat ebenso überzeugt. Der eher schwere Klang des Beckens ist eine gute Ergänzung.
Ebenso die Optik des Beckens macht einigen Eindruck.

Meiner Meinung nach eine gute Kaufempfehlung, wenn man für wenig Geld ein gutes, schweres Becken haben möchte.

Die Dauer wird allerdings erst zeigen, wie robust das Becken ist und wie es sich mit anderen Musikstilen verhält.
