Lots of fun, sounds great

I’ve been looking at the original Play since it was released and decided to take the plunge with the Play+ on release.

Pros: lots of fun, mostly intuitive to use, lots of visual feedback, sounds fantastic, quick to create full projects, minimal menu diving, perform mode is amazing for on the fly variation, straightforward to integrate with other gear, great build quality

Cons: some features seemingly hidden or hard to find (likely user error), loading projects can feel long (10-30seconds), per project memory fills up fast, knob bank would benefit from some colour variation as it can be easy to get lost

Only been using this for a week or so but very happy with my purchase so far. I had issues with the unit crashing initially which has not happened since updating to the 1.0.1 firmware, and also had some frustration with switching functions by accidentally double tapping knobs which was easy to disable. One thing that feels like it’s missing is the ability to save different perform effects per track but it’s not a major issue. Overall it’s a fantastic unit with a ton of potential, worth the money

En principio iba a comprarme el original, pero ha salido este y lo veo una opción mejor con los sintetizadores. La construcción es perfecta, la pantalla pequeña pero se lee muy bien todo y los pads son prácticamente (o a mí me lo recuerdan) los del tracker, aunque un poco más grandes.

Si lo vas a comprar, sabes lo que es. Un sample player. Aunque tiene pocas opciones de edición de los samples, a nivel básico está muy bien (pitch, volume, etc.)
El fuerte de esta groovebox es secuenciar. Nunca he visto una cosa parecida. Tienes 64 pasos pero puedes hacer que parezcan 128 o 256 con las técnicas adecuadas. Es un generador de ideas sublime, y lo veo muy enfocado para tocar en directo.

Los sintetizadores suenan impresionantes, los presets geniales, lo único es que tan solo puedes utilizar tres presets por proyecto, aunque asignando macros puedes convertir cada synth en cualquier cosa que se te ocurra. Al principio me parecía una limitación, pero sabiendo hacer buen uso de las macros puedes lograr todo tipo de sonidos.

Reverb y delay son espectaculares y pueden llegar muy lejos, tiene sidechain de una pista en el limitador y mil mil cosas más. Para que vas a andar con un montón de sintetizadores distintos si tan solo tienes dos manos. Coge uno que pueda hacer de todo como este Play+ y concéntrate en él. Gran máquina, con margen de mejora, eso seguro, pero ha iniciado su andadura. Recomendado. Si quieres pasarlo bien haciendo música no vas encontrar nada tan divertido.

Toller Sequenzer, auch für Steuerung externer Instrumente.
Die Synths sind gut und erweitern das Gerät sehr sinnvoll!!
Das Bedienkonzept ist wirklich extrem intuitiv.
