Can't go wrong with Gotoh

Gotoh confirms as one of the best affordable brands out there. I've tried many of them and I'm still always amazed on how this hardware feels, looks and works.
I bought these tuners despite many reviews said that the screws were unreliable, but guess what? I didn't have any problem at all. Just make pilot holes big enough and you'll be fine.
I'd buy these again for sure!

Nice tuners, horrible included screws

As the headline says, the tuners are very nice and sturdy. However, the screws strip easily (even with a perfectly fitting bit) and if they don't strip then they break. I drilled new holes for the screws so tuners would fit, but they broke and stripped anyway. I didn't want to risk ruining more screws after about 4 or 5 getting stuck in the bass so I had to find others that wouldn't fail.
I saw another reviewer say the same thing a year ago exactly. Gotoh should be ashamed that they haven't fixed such a simple issue.

If you do end up buying this and run into the same problem, I made do with some small Ikea screws. Not ideal but at least they didn't strip or break.

great quality tuners

i would recommend these since they are made really really well. Beware of two things. These are really big so there must be a slight chance they ll fill up the entire space on the back of headstock and i mean entire. also very heavy and might introduce some neck dive. I ve used these on Fender Jazz Bass.

Belle mécanique

Une mécanique de la harley benton vintage était fatigué, donc j'en ai profité pour continuer le custom dessus ( reste plus que le bois).
Mécanique bien précise qui ne bouge, j'ai été surpris en sortant la basse du fly de la voir encore accordé.
Attention toutefois au dimension du trou, un ami menuisier a pu coller les bagues car le trou d'origine dans la tête est trop grand. Pour le reste vis à l'arrière faut refaire les trous mais il y a bien la place pour les mécaniques.
Très satisfait de cet achat
