A simple tool but priceless. It would have taken me hours to fiddle about, with out it.
If your sound post has fallen in....get one quick!

As I play double bass for a living, so mostly everyday, my instrument's soundpost can get jolted out of position, or be affected by weather.

The Gewa soundpost setter is perfect designed to be inserted into the soundhole to tap the soundpost to the desired position.

Pros: it is rubber coated as not to scrape the varnish on the table.

Cons: the tapping end could be just slightly heavier for a more precise tap. But most luthiers simply add weight to the tip.

I would recommend this to anyone

very useful tool

this is a well crafted and beautiful tool to use. If you have a double bass, this can save your skin if your sound post falls during transportation etc. It is very useful for adjusting tone on your instrument.

Great tool

Seems to do the job very well. Great usability. It has a sharp end to stick into the sound post to place it in the bass. After that the tool is easily disconnected from the sound post just by pulling it out.
The other end helps you to move the sound post in any direction either by pushing, pulling or gently hitting it. The soft coating prevents damage to the wood. So simple, so well designed.
